In the event of an unfortunate accident are you aware of the necessary steps to take and procedures to follow?

Following an accident, do you feel lost among the multitude of procedures, administrative operations and reports to be filled in, are you afraid of the bureaucratic trap?

We advise you to:
- Ensure your safety: remain calm, turn on emergency lights and set the emergency triangle.
- Next steps: Having checked if everybody in the other vehicle is ok, and that neither car poses a danger to other drivers, if possible, make a sketch of how the accident occured including the damage to both vehicles.Do not leave the scene of the accident until the Gardai have arrived. Exchange car registration details, insurance information and contact information with the other driver.
- Finally: Report the accident promptly to your insurance company.
